Lloyd Estates Elementary | School Board Workshop
Finalized school proposals will be presented; community members are encouraged to attend to show their support and share their views.
The Broward County School Board will hold its next Redefining Our Schools workshop on Tuesday, October 6, at 9 a.m. Finalized school proposals are expected to be presented, and Lloyd Estates Elementary remains under consideration for closure.
The Oakland Park City Commission adopted a resolution on September 9 formally opposing the proposed closure and requesting that Lloyd Estates be removed from the current closure and consolidation process. The city continues to work with community partners and Broward County Public Schools to explore possible alternatives that address the District’s concerns while preserving the school’s role in the community.
No final decision has been made. Residents, parents and community members are encouraged to stay engaged and participate in the October 6 workshop.
Community members can participate in several ways:
Attend and speak in person: Register to provide public comment on Agenda Item #1, Redefining Our Schools 2026-27. Speakers are generally permitted up to three minutes to provide comments on the item. You do not have to speak to participate. Simply attending the workshop can help demonstrate community interest in the future of Lloyd Estates Elementary.
Submit written comments: Written comments may be submitted through the School Board’s eComments system. Comments must be submitted by 1 p.m. Monday, October 5 and may not exceed 2,250 characters.
Watch online: The workshop will be livestreamed by Broward County Public Schools.
