The City is moving toward purchasing the 5-acre CareerSource Broward property on W Oakland Park Blvd for $6.2M. The city has not stated its vision for the property, but did state in the August 5 City Commission agenda that there are “redevelopment objectives”, objectives which the city has not shared with the public.
Because we believe that OP stakeholders deserve a voice as we consider such a significant purchase, we are hosting a Westside Vision roundtable at 6:30pm on August 27 at 2819 N Oakland Forest Dr.
Given its central location and proximity to I-95, the coming Turnpike exit west of SR 7, and the anticipated Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route, West OPB has the potential to be a hub for everyone in South Florida, not just local residents. What do you want to see in OP? How do we turn this neglected corridor into a shining showpiece for our city?
Please plan to attend, and share the flyer with your friends and neighbors, and on social media. Join us on the 27th for an energizing community conversation about the possibilities — bring your hopes, ideas, and questions. Light refreshments will be served.
Let’s build something great together!
